Public BBQ

Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden is a hidden gem in the Dee Why area, offering a peaceful environment for visitors to enjoy. The garden features a variety of native Australian trees and flowers, such as fire flowers, Rutaceae Microcitrus Australasica Finger Lime, and stag horn. Visitors can also observe various butterflies and native honey bees. The botanic garden has several interesting spots to explore, including a rainforest, Bush Tucker Garden, Flower Garden, Wave Rock, Paperbark corner, and a lookout. The garden has a picnic and barbecue area, as well as a photo frame area for taking memorable pictures. It is a great place for families with children, as there are several easy walking paths and fun activities for kids, such as treasure hunts and craft stations. It is also accessible for people with disabilities, offering a relaxing experience for all members of the community. Note that dogs are not allowed in the garden.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Northern Beaches council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Northern Beaches council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
